A little over a year ago - on November 14, 2024, to be precise - I created a new Google Sheets file in an attempt to list my favorite Pokémon in numerical order. This was shortly after making my top 30 on Tiermaker, which I did after rewatching Alpharad's Attempting a Nuzlocke with our favorite Pokémon and wondering about the battle viability of my own favorite Pokémon. As these things go, though, I became much more interested in organizing my opinions rather than any sort of battle strategy.
Since then, I've tried to make an ordered list of my favorite Pokémon multiple times. I even used to have a Tiermaker image of my initial 30 (and then 50) on this site. I really like a lot of Pokémon, and I know what Pokémon I like more than others. But as it turns out, with so many Pokémon and the passage of time, my ordered opinions have continued to fluctuate depending on my mood or as my psychic bond with some Pokémon have inexplicably grown. (Looking at you, Azumarill, Skarmory, and Primarina.) I revisited that Google Sheets file a few times since making it in an attempt to update it, but my first iteration had my top 50 in order and 51-100 unordered, while my 2025 version got up to 66 ordered Pokémon.
The theme of Pokémon Day in 2026 is "What's your favorite Pokémon?" And while my singular favorite Pokémon is incredibly evident - I have a domain named after it, after all - I figured this anniversary was a good excuse to reorganize my top 100 Pokémon in preferred numerical order. There's a good chance that this order will change in the near future, and even though these guys will always be somewhere near or in my top 100, new Pokémon will always shake up the rankings. But for the 30th anniversary of Pokémon and "What's your favorite?" Day, I figured it'd be both a suitable and fun project to order my top 100 Pokémon again, now as a webpage that allows you to view them like opening TCG booster packs, because I'm still playing TCGP pretty religiously.
And it's a good thing I established my top 6 in 2024 because honestly, that has made my attachment to those 6 grow even more, despite already being my top favorites. At least with how fickle I can be about my other standings, I have pretty good confidence now that my top 6 will likely be unchanging.
